Mission Statement

Games are meant to be FUN! MMO games are not meant to be "won", but are meant to be enjoyed at all levels. Friendly, mature players seeking to play alongside others, not for what they can achieve, but simply to enjoy the setting and world that is given to us.

We don't require you to play certain class. If you want to play a Nercomancer in RvR, that's fine with us! We don't require you to spec any specific way. Smite Cleric? Matter Sorcerer? Shield Tank? Those are all great choices! We don't require you to use any particular equipment. If you don't know what a template is or why you need one, you're welcome to play along with us. We don't require you to play a minimum amount. It doesn't matter if you log in every day, once a week, or even only once a month, we'll treat you the same. We aren't "uber". We aren't running Epic-level encounters every night. We're not running a dedicated 8-man gank-group in RvR. We don't support or allow offensive or elitist chat in /gu or /as.

We are having fun, and that's the most important part of playing a game!

History of the Guild

The Crimson Order was founded shortly after the Gareth server opened. The original membership was a few people from The Emerald Order, a Hibernian guild on Percival. Our Guildmaster was Derek Lightbringer, but the driving force behind starting a guild in Albion were Beatrix, a Friar, and Aranwe, a Reaver.

Over time, most of the original members (including Derek) migrated back to Hibernia, and reformed The Emerald Order on the Lamorak server. Beatrix and Aranwe stepped away from the game for personal reasons and The Crimson Order began to fall apart. Before long, there were no active members in the guild.

After their hiatus, Beatrix and Aranwe returned to the game, playing as part of The Emerald Order on Lamorak. It didn't take long for them to realize that Albion was "home" and they wanted to return there. They petitioned Derek for GM status and it was granted.

Within a few months, they had rebuilt the membership to a few dozen players, and joined a small alliance. They worked hard at building the guild and after endess hours of farming, upgraded the guild house, and equipped it with all of the accoutrements (Consignement Merchant, Healer, Bindstone, Guild Vaults, etc.) that a prospective guild member would expect, as well as working on an attractive (albeit useless) decoration scheme. They also worked hard at filling the guild vaults to overflowing with mid-level equipment.

When the beta phase of Labyrinth of the Minotaur started, both Beatrix and Aranwe eagerly moved to the Pendragon server to help test the new expansion. The guild was left leaderless and within a few weeks, people were leaving the guild. The alliance we had joined was disolved. Some unscrupulous members raided the guild vaults, emptying them of any saleable equipment. The Crimson Order was failing. By the time the expansion testing had completed, the guild was down to only four people, two of which were the Guildmasters, Beatrix and Aranwe.

Since the release of Labyrinth of the Minotaur, the guild has rejoined the Dragon's Rage alliance and the Guildmasters are hard at work again, refilling the guild vaults and recruiting new players who fit into The Crimson Order's mindset.

About the Guild

Dark Age of Camelot is a "mature" game. The vast majority of the players have multiple top-level characters, a decent sized store of game money to use and plenty of available time to create or acquire the best items in the game. The end-game is full of players who have optimized their characters to the n-th degree, using charged items, buffbots (sometimes more than one!) and fully templated to maximize every single stat and ability as far as they can go.

That sounds a lot like work to us.

We prefer to play the entire game, not just the end-game. We do host weekly alliance events in order to build a stronger community, with moderate success. Level 50 RvR and PvE encounters are fun, and we do enjoy them. But the majority of our time is spent on more casual play. We maintain a fairly constant presence in the various low-level Battlegrounds, since that is the last area of the game where casual low- and mid-level, non-templated, play is acceptable.

Ranks & Requirments

Recruit (rank 9)
New members will enter the guild at this rank. This rank has full access to the guild house and vaults. The vaults are open, but we appreciate it if you could replace items when you outgrow them and add in items that have a quality of 97% or higher. Can hear alliance chat but cannot speak on the alliance channel.

Farmer (rank 8)
This rank is reserved for Necromancers intended to farm for specific items or game money. This rank is identical in all respects to the Recruit rank, but can also hear (but not speak on) the officer channel.

Soldier (rank 6)
After one week in the guild, you are granted this level. This rank has all of the abilities of the previous ranks plus adds the ability to chat on the alliance channel. This is your basic member level.

Seargent (rank 4)
This is for members who have expressed an interest in or are actively participating in RvR but have no interest in guild management. This rank has all of the abilities of the previous ranks plus adds the ability to claim and upgrade towers and keeps. We are a small guild so please limit yourself to claiming and raising towers to level 4 unless absolutely neccessary. We simply don't have the GBPs to hold anything higher for very long. This rank also adds the ability to summon banners, accept Guild RvR missions and to use GBPs to purchase hookpoint items. This is the level that most members will eventally become.

Lieutenant (rank 3)
This is the lowest officer rank. This is for members who have expressed an interest in guild management. This rank has all of the abilities of the previous ranks plus adds the ability to invite new players into the guild, to set the guild buff, to buy RvR banners for the guild, and to hear (but not speak on) the officer chat channel. Players at this rank are expected to promote the guild during their play and to actively seek out new members, but are not required to involve themselves in managment of the guild. You must be in the guild for a minimum of one month to be considered for this rank.

Officer (rank 2)
This rank is self explanitory and is intended for players who have demonstrated interest in guild management and are actively promoting the guild and recruiting new members during their play. This rank has all of the abilities of the previous ranks plus adds the abilitiy to speak on the private officer channel, the ability to promote and demote guild members, edit guild member's notes, and edit the guild MOTD. Officers are expected to invite at least one new player into the guild each week and to promote existing members to higher ranks as needed. Officers will also be involved in day-to-day guild management issues.

Assistant (rank 1)
This is the Assistant GM rank. Players at this rank have all of the rights and responsibilites of a full GuildMaster, but are not rank 0. This includes full access to the guild consignment merchant. There are a few exceptions that are limited to rank 0: the ability to edit the alliance MOTD, and the ability to toggle guild dues.

Guildmaster (rank 0)
This is self evident. It is the goal to have only the "main" character from each guildmaster's account listed as rank 0 and the remainder at rank 1.
